Warhammer Survivors beginner guide
Start with your champion’s weapon behavior, then read the battlefield before chasing pickups. These basics cover the announced combat systems and help you approach the demo without building around a guessed evolution recipe.

Choose a universe and champion
Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar have separate champion selections. Start by reading the weapon rather than choosing a supposed tier. Malum Caedo’s horizontal Chainsword can strike several targets; Trooper Kozlowski’s Lasgun picks the nearest enemy; Sharynn’s Grandblade develops a circular swing. These behaviors ask for different positioning.
Move to suit the weapon
Some weapons auto-aim while others do not. A weapon’s direction and coverage matter as much as its name. Fyrestorm Greataxe changes swing direction with movement and deals less damage while you stand still. Zangrom-Thaz continues swinging while stationary and becomes faster when moving. Do not assume that every upgrade preserves the same movement rule.
- Watch where your current attack lands.
- Keep space around the attack’s weak side.
- Read the changed behavior when you evolve a weapon.
Do not mistake control for safety
Stunned enemies stop moving but can still attack. Burning enemies take fire damage over time and move faster, while Poisoned enemies take damage and slow down. If you apply Burning to an approaching group, allow more room rather than assuming the damage makes them harmless.
React to support enemies
Tyranid Synapse creatures strengthen nearby lesser bioforms. Killing the emitter temporarily stuns nearby Termagants and Hormagaunts. Bell of Doom gives nearby Skaven Warded. Support effects make target choice matter; blindly attacking the nearest mass can leave the support threat active.
Pick up power without walking into it
Melta-Bomb has a delay before its blast, so lure targets toward the explosion. Purple Sun of Shyish can damage you as well as enemies. A pickup effect occupying the battlefield is not automatically safe ground. Gold gained in runs strengthens future runs; paint pots unlock character forms and secrets.
